(ĐN)- Capital disbursement of foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in Dong Nai stood at nearly US$1.5 billion as of October-end, exceeding the yearly target by 50 percent.

The figure brings the province's FDI disbursement up to more than US$18.2 billion, according to Dong Nai Industrial Zones Authority (DIZA).

Foreign investors poured most into the processing and manufacturing industry. FDI disbursements tend to increase in the year-end months.

The increase in FDI disbursements was thanks to some big projects licensed in previous years. Particularly, Schaeffler VN at Amata IP in Bien Hoa city disbursed US$98 million in this period,  Hwaseung Vina in Nhon Trach 1 IP, US$85 million, N.E.W Company in Amata IP, US$58 million, TaeKwang Vina Industrial, US$42 million, etc.

Dong Nai is now more selective, targeting to attract quality capital flow into technology-rich and environmentally-friendly industries and boost the development of local companies through setting up value chains.

Mai Van Nhon, Deputy Head of the DIZA, said that many foreign investors are showing increasing interest in Viet Nam, driven by the country’s rapid integration, stable macro-economy and hastened administrative reforms. The trend will continue next year, he said.
