(ĐN)- Dong Nai’s pig raising sector is shifting strongly from household breeding to industrial breeding and raising in large farms.
The province currently has 1,759 pig farms, representing of 94 percent of the total pig herd, increasing 24 percent against the same period last year. Of the farms, 670 are operating in planned areas.
Dong Nai is currently leading the country in breeding pigs under industrial model as the average rate of breeding pigs under farming model is only at about 70 percent.
The province's pig herd has so far reached some 2.5 million.
