(ĐN)- Long Thanh district Farmers' Association on June 14-15 held the fourth congress to review its activities in the 2012-2018 period and discusses tasks in the new tenure.
Over the past five years, the association helped more than 8,000 member households to access to preferential loans totaling over VND1.1 trillion to develop production and improve their income, mobilized nearly VND894 million, seedlings and breeding animals from its rich members to help poor members escape poverty.
In 2012-2018 period, the association raised more than VND12.5 billion and 82,500 sq.m of land from its members to build rural traffic roads and new rural development projects.
In the next term, the association will continue efforts to raise the quality of its activities, concentrate on strengthening the staff, cooperate with relevant agencies to support its members and local farmers to develop production and build new-style rural areas.
The congress elected 25-member executive board. Mr Tran Van Thanh was re-elected as Chairman of the association for the 2018-2023 term.
On this occasion, Long Thanh district People’s Committee honored 20 collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements.
