(ĐN)- Amata Vietnam has recently been licenced to invest US$1.6 billion in industrial and urban project, Amata Ha Long City, in Quang Ninh province. This is the corporation’s first project in North.
The project will be built on an area of 5,789 ha and designed for leading towards a smart city in future. It includes three phases with the first one is expected to be started in 2020.
Somhatai Panichewa, Amata Vietnam’s CEO, said the project site is strategically located in the northern transportation hub close to international airports and a deep seaport that helps strengthen the logistics sector.
Amata VN is a subsidiary of Thailand-based Amata Corporation PCL. It has been in Vietnam for more than 23 years, with Amata industrial park covering an area of 700ha in Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province.
So far, Amata IP attracted 165 investors from 21 countries and territories, who have invested a total of over US$ 2.7 billion and created some 50,000 jobs.
Amata Vietnam is now deploying a 1,270 ha project in Dong Nai’s Long Thanh district. The project will earmark 33 percent of its space for a hi-tech industrial park with the rest being an urban development.
