(ĐN) - Dong Nai’s exports of wood and timber products are estimated to hit US$1.3 billion in 2017, a year-on-year increase of 10 percent, according to the provincial Department of Statistics.
The US, Japan, the Republic of Korea and China are the biggest importers of the province’s wood and timber products, accounting for some 85 percent of the total value of the sector.
The Vietnam – EU free trade agreement will become effective in 2018 and bring tariffs on wood products to zero, said the economic experts. Accordingly, the province’s timber export is forecast to continue on its upward trend since a number of businesses received orders until early 2019.
