(ĐN)- According to Nestlé Vietnam Company, Nestlé Tri An plant, operating in Amata Industrial Park in Bien Hoa city, has saved 60 per cent of used energy and reuse 28 per cent of wastewater after being treated during its production activities.
This is one of the handful enterprises in the country that achieved the target of disposing no waste to the environment. With prominent initiatives, such as using coffee peel as fuel, ash as fertilizer or wastewater from production for irrigation, the plant saves a significant amount of energy and water resources during production.
Nestlé Vietnam has also got the title of Sustainable Business 2017 at an annual ranking program jointly organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and State Securities Commission.
The program is based on the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) with criteria in economic, environmental, and social fields.
