Dong Nai expects economic growth of over 8 pct in 2018

(ĐN) – A meeting was held on December 14 in Dong Nai to review the implementation of socio-economic tasks in 2017 and work out the plans for next year.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong, Chairman of People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai, Chairman of Fatherland Front Committee Huynh Van Toi attended the event.

In 2017, Dong Nai’s economy continues to show strong growth across fields. Accordingly, the province earned Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate of 8 percent.

In the reviewed period, the province’s index of industrial production increased 8.6 percent year-on-year, while production value of agriculture - forestry - fishery sector up 3.15 percent. Annual average per capita income in the locality is VND91 million.

Dong Nai province’s total budget collection reached nearly VND48,660 billion this year, an increase of 12 percent compared to the previous year.

Export turnover, domestic and foreign investment attraction also exceeded targets set out for 2017.

Dong Nai expects to achieve the GRDP growth rate of 8-9 percent in 2018. Accordingly, annual average per capita income will be between VND94-96 million, export turnover up 9-11 percent, social development investment capital reaches VND87,000 billion; health insurance is expected to cover 84.5 percent of the population next year.

To achieve set targets, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai suggested departments, agencies and localities to continue efforts to simplify administrative procedures, create favorable conditions to attract more investment, etc.
