Three construction packages for Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway launched

(ĐN)- The Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) on November 8 held a launching ceremony for the three construction packages funded by the Asia Development Bank (ADB) under the Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway project in Dong Nai province.

 

(ĐN)- The Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) on November 8 held a launching ceremony for the three construction packages funded by the Asia Development Bank (ADB) under the Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway project in Dong Nai province.

The three construction packages named A5, A6 and A7 have a total investment of nearly VND2,400 billion and is expected to be completed within 35 months.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The said that the Ben Luc-Long Thanh highway is an important transport project of Vietnam. He also suggested the contractors to reduce construction time in order to put the whole expressway into use in 2020.

Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway has a total length of 57.1 km running through Long An province (2.7km), Ho Chi Minh City (26.4km) and Dong Nai province (28km).

The first phase of the project requires an investment of VND31.3 trillion (roughly US$1.6 billion) including US$636 million funded by ADB, US$635 funded by the Japanese Government via JICA and the counterpart capital of US$337 million from Vietnamese Government.

The entire project is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
