(ĐN)- According to Dong Nai Steering Board for Pork Consumption Support, the total quarantined pigs shipped to other provinces and cities reached over 47,000 last week.
Accordingly, around 29,790 were supplied to HCM city, increasing over 4,000 over the week earlier. Of them, 28,980 pigs were worn the rings which help track the origin and journey of pork from the farm to the wholesale markets, from the wholesale markets to retail markets, and from retail markets to consumers. Thus, 97 percent of pigs supplied to HCM city were attached rings to trace their origins.
Dong Nai is boosting propaganda activities for local breeders, slaughterhouses, traders on the management, recognition and tracing origins of pork of HCM city. Accordingly, the city will check the origin of all pork sold in the locality from September this year.
