(ĐN)- On June 5, Secretary of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of People’s Committee and Chairman Huynh Van Toi of Fatherland Front Committee presided over a meeting to review the implementation of socio-economic tasks in the first half of this year and work out for next half.
Dong Nai’s economy in the first six months of this year continues to show strong growth across fields. Accordingly, the province’s index of industrial production increased 7.82 percent year-on-year, while export turnover reached more than US$8 billion, up 11.2 percent.
During the reviewed period, Dong Nai attracted some US$600 million, fulfilling 63.2 percent of the year’s plan.
In Jan-June, the province lured around VND17 trillion in new privately owned enterprises, up 1.6 percent compared to the same period of previous year. Dong Nai’s agriculture - forestry - fishery sector reached production value of more than VND17 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 2.48 percent.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong asked relevant agencies and localities to continue efforts to achieve a Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of between 8-9 percent this year.
