(ĐN)- Dong Nai is currently home to 489 farms which are certified for epidemic safety, including 266 poultry and 223 pig farms. Of them, 59 farms have met the Vietnamese Good Animal Husbandry Practices (VietGAHP) standard.
However, the number of farms which are certified for epidemic safety is also low compared with the total of 2,300 farms in the province. Dong Nai has set up two animal husbandry zones which are epidemic safety from avian flu and Newcastle on poultry in Trang Bom and Thong Nhat districts.
The province is continuing to expand the building of epidemic safety animal husbandry zones with priorities given in building buffer zones in 10 communes around chicken farms of Koyu & Unitek Company, the firm that is preparing to export chicken to Japan, meeting poultry epidemic safety requirements.
