(ĐN)- Central Council on New Rural Construction approved the recognition of Trang Bom as new rural district at a meeting in Ha Noi on May 10.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Linh Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai and Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Truong Thi Ngoc Anh attended the meeting.
Dong Nai province’s Trang Bom district mobilized about VND9.6 trillion for building new-style rural areas over the past years.
The locality also encouraged local people to help build infrastructure such as bridges and roads in rural areas.
Thanks to these efforts, 16 out of 16 communes in the district have qualified as new rural areas. Annual average per capita income in the locality is VND45.2 million.
At the meeting, the council praised efforts made by Trang Bom to meet criteria for new rural development and submitted to the Prime Minister for approval.
