The campaign, organized by Dong Nai province’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Industry and Trade and the provincial Animal Husbandry Association, buy pigs, slaughter them and directly sell pork to consumers.
Customers can buy pork at the spot with prices VND10,000-15,000 lower than market prices.
According to Nguyen Tri Cong, deputy chairman of the association, the purchase and slaughtering of pigs for sales aim to limit traders’ influence on pig prices and contribute in stabilizing the market.
