Additional cultivation area for specialty durian trees established

(ĐN)- Phu An commune has become an cultivation area for specialty durian trees which covers nearly 300 hectares of land in Tan Phu district.

Durian trees grown in this area bear bigger fruits which have sweeter-smelling taste than those grown in other provinces and cities. The fruits therefore are being purchased with high prices by traders.

Durian varieties in Phu An commune are mostly Monthong with yellow pulp and flat seeds. The fruits also bring high productivity with 15-20 tons per hectare a year. With an this average yield and harvesting at the right time, famers can earn profits at 350-400 million per hectare a year.
