(ĐN) - On March 6, Dong Nai Farmers’ Association organized a conference to deploy its tasks in 2017. Deputy Secretary Phan Thi My Thanh of the provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman Leu Vu Dieu of Viet Nam Farmers' Association attended the event.
In 2016, the association has admitted nearly 6,600 new members, fulfilling 109 percent of the target, bringing the total number of members to nearly 196,000. It also established a fund to give financial support to disadvantaged households, helping farmers access technological advances in agricultural production.
At the conference, Deputy Secretary suggested the association to continue to strongly renovate its operational method, focusing on encouraging member farmers to get involved in building mechanisms and policies on agriculture, farmers and rural areas, improving its role and responsibility in agricultural development, building new rural areas and training farmers.
Vice Chairman Leu Vu Dieu highly appreciated efforts made by the association to help local farmers increase productivity and improve their income; he also affirmed its role in farmers’ movements and the building of new styled rural areas
