(ĐN) – Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai had a working session on December 16 with France’s CNIM Group to discuss investment possibility for a waste-to-energy power plant in the province.

After a fact-finding on volume of garbage in Dong Nai, CNIM wants to build a modern waste-to-energy power plant in Dong Nai, covering 4 hectares of land with an average daily capacity estimated at 1,300 tonnes of garbage to produce about 155 MW of electricity an year with total investment of nearly 154 million Euros.

According to Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai, the province has so far received 10 dossiers requesting the investment of waste treatment plant to generate electricity in Dong Nai province of groups in Vietnam and foreign countries, adding that CNIM’s technology was highest appreciated. To make the project become more feasible, CNIM has to ensure the price of treating garbage while protecting the environment, he added.
