Coffee prices hit two-year high

(ĐN)- According to the purchasing agents, Dong Nai's robusta coffee in the local market rose to VND45-45.5 million per ton from over VND35 million two months ago.

(ĐN)- According to the purchasing agents, Dong Nai’s robusta coffee in the local market rose to VND45-45.5 million per ton from over VND35 million two months ago.

Dong Nai earned nearly US$510 million from coffee export in Jan-Oct, up 34 pct over the same period of previous year.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, coffee exports of Vietnam, the world's largest robusta coffee exporter, reached an estimated 121,000 tons in October, up 89,000 tones from a year earlier.

Accordingly, Vietnam’s coffee export in the first ten months of this year saw a year on year increase of 40 percent.

Currently, the country’s coffee export price is approximately US$2,187-2,191 per ton, the highest over the past two years. The rising trend was buoyed by the global price hike
