(ĐN)- Dong Nai province's Livestock Competitiveness and Food Safety Project (Lifsap) is cooperating with the province’s Animal Husbandry-Veterinary Department to implement a program to attach tags on pig ears raised under VietGAHP standards before transporting to markets.
The program is to trace the origin of pork in an effort to ensure consumer health and benefits.
So far, the province has established 3 good animal husbandry practice (GAHP) zones with 52 GAHP groups with 1,047 breeding households that have been applied safety breeding procedures. Accordingly, 622 of the households have been awarded VietGAHP certificates.
Earlier, to trace the origin of pork, Lifsap has attached nearly 40,000 tags on pig ears which are raised at VietGAHP breeding households.
