(ĐN)- France’s CNIM Company said that it is considering the project of developing a waste treatment plant to generate electricity in Dong Nai province.

According to CNIM, the plant is expected to treat around 500 tons of garbage to produce about 3 MW of electricity an hour with total investment of nearly US$170 million. It is equipped with advanced technology that doesn’t need much land for construction as well as doesn’t affect the environment.

CNIM has built many waste-to-energy plants in cities in Europe and America. Currently, the demand of waste treatment is high in Dong Nai province, especially in Bien Hoa city.

Many investors hoped to invest to build waste treatment plants, but mainly to produce fertilizers, non-smoke burning and burying. The province is showing interest in waste-to-energy projects.
