Dong Nai has now total pig herd of 1.5 million heads, total chicken herd of more than 16 million heads. Accordingly, farm breeding accounted of more than 70 percent. The province is home to 2,578 breeding farms, mainly in Thong NHAT, Trang Bom, Xuan Loc and Cam My districts.
Most of the farms in Dong Nai are treating their waster from breeding by building biogas tanks. Most of the waste water has not yet been treated in accordance with standards of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment before releasing into environment.
The seminar provided measures in animal husbandry waste water, helping reduce environment pollution. The participating farm owners also paid fact-finding tours to farms which have been equipped with waste treatment system meeting environment protection standards.
