In the first nine months of the year, the country attracted US$16.43 billion from newly-licensed projects and capital-added projects. Accordingly, the manufacturing and processing sector lured the largest share of FDI with more than US$12 billion or 73 percent of the province's FDI.
Hai Phong city remained the most attractive destination to foreign investors as it absorbed some US$2.74 billion, making up 16.7 percent of total FDI registered in the country. It was followed by Ha Noi with US$1.97 billion or 12 percent, Dong Nai province with US$1.89 billion. Most of projects in Dong Nai met with the locality’s investment attraction orientation, mainly in industrial production and infrastructure development of residential areas.
