(ĐN)- Dong Nai’s coffee export hit some 237,000 tonnes over the last 8 months, surged 40 percent in volume from the same period last year, making up 20 percent of the country's total coffee export volume, according to the provincial Statistics Department.
The coffee prices in the province have risen to US$1,900 per ton this month, the highest since the beginning of this year. The rising trend was buoyed by the global price hike in recent weeks. Accordingly, local exporters have more opportunities to boost their exports.
Presently, Dong Nai’s coffee is being exported to more than 30 countries worldwide
The province’s main coffee exporters included Tin Nghia Corp, Minh Huy Co. Ltd in Long Khanh town, Armajaro Co. Ltd in Tam Phuoc industrial park.
In August alone, Dong Nai shipped abroad over 31,000 tonnes of coffee, a month-on-month increase of 3,000 tones. Coffee is among the province’s largest export products with a turnover of some US$401 million.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam earned more than US$2.25 billion from shipping1.27 million tonnes of coffee abroad in Jan-August, increased 40 percent in volume year on year.
Philippines, China, Japan , Germany and the United States remained the largest importers of Vietnamese coffee this period.
