Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong and Deputy Secretary Phan Thi My Thanh of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman Tran Van Tu of People’s Council, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of People’s Committee attended the event.
So far, 10 out of 12 communes in Nhon Trach district have qualified as new rural areas, the remaining has satisfied 17-18 criteria for new rural development. Over the past five years, the district invested approximately VND11 trillion for new rural construction, more than 77 percent of the total came from the socialized capital source
Meanwhile, 13 out of 14 communes in Long Thanh district completed all criteria for new-style rural areas. The district also mobilized over VND7 trillion from socialized capital source for new rural construction.
Annual average per capita income in Nhon Trach and Long Thanh is VND38.5 million and VND40.6 million, respectively.
At the ceremony, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai acknowledged efforts made by organizations and individuals and called on enterprises and people to join hands to build rural areas. On this occasion, 10 collectives and 20 individuals were honored for their contributions to new rural construction.
Deputy Tran Thanh Nam affirmed that Dong Nai is leading the country in new rural area construction. He hoped that the province would continue efforts to develop hi-tech agriculture.
Dong Nai has set the goal of completing the programme on building new-style rural areas by 2020.
