The southern province of Dong Nai attracted US$883 million in FDI in the first five months of 2016, nearly reaching the target set for the year of US$1 billion.
The FDI poured in the province is expected to double in comparison with the set plan for the year.
As of May 31, 50 projects were licensed with a total registered capital of US$332 million while 38 projects were added with US$550 million.
Until now, as many as 1,600 projects, worth US$29 billion, were launched in the province, including 1,200 valid ones, valued at US$24 billion.
Japan, the Republic of Korea and Taiwan are the largest investors in the province with projects in such fields as the auxiliary industry, electronics and high technology.
