(ĐN)- According to Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province reached some VND7 trillion in agriculture, forestry and fishery value in the first quarter of the year, up 3.84% against the same period of last year.
Of the total, the agricultural production value achieved around VND6.4 trillion, the fishery was over VND520 billion, and the forestry, more than VND50 billion.
Since the beginning of the year, long-lasting drought and saltwater intrusion have worried farmers in the province.
Accordingly, Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts are struggling with water shortage. Meanwhile, farmers in Nhon Trach and Long Thanh districts are facing a loss of crops as severe saline intrusion. Many hectares of crops have seen productivity decrease.
