(ĐN)- Prime Minister signed a decision to recognize Thong Nhat as the third new rural district in Dong Nai province, following Xuan Loc district and Long Khanh town.
The announcement ceremony of the Decision will be held by Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee in the coming time.
So far, 9 out of 10 communes in Thong Nhat district have qualified as new rural areas, the remaining has satisfied 17-18 criteria for new rural development.
The district established 13 specialized crop areas and 20 concentrated breeding areas with 1,007 farms. Income per capita of individuals in the locality is estimated at VND35 million this year, an increase of 92.3% compared to 2010.
In 2010-2015 period, the district invested VND11,414 billion for new rural construction. Accordingly, the district has made efforts to push ahead with developing hi-tech agriculture, promoting the application of science-technology in processing and production to bring higher economic values.
