Taiwan pours over US$1 bln in FDI in VN

Taiwan's investors have 103 projects newly licensed and 55 others added capital with a total registered capital of US$1.11 billion in the first 11 months of 2015 in Viet Nam.

Taiwan’s investors have 103 projects newly licensed and 55 others added capital with a total registered capital of US$1.11 billion in the first 11 months of 2015 in Viet Nam.

The FDI inflows mainly focused on processing and manufacturing with US$890 million in registered capital, accounting for nearly 80% of the total.

Construction ranked second, registering around US$130 million; followed by real estate and mining.

Taiwan-invested projects of wholly-foreign invested enterprises, joint ventures, and cooperative contracts accounted for US$1.06 billion (95%).

Noticeably, Taiwan investors preferred Southern key economic localities, with Binh Duong hosting 30 newly-licensed projects and 12 projects with additional capital valuing US$427 million (over 38%); followed by Dong Nai with US$241.18 million (21.6%)./.
