Eight ASEAN member countries invest over US$ 56 billion into Vietnam

Currently, eight ASEAN member countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Laos and Cambodia have invested over 2, 700 projects into Vietnam with total capital of US$ 56. 85 billion accounting for nearly 21 percent of total foreign direct investment capital in the country, reported the Foreign Investment Department.

Currently, eight ASEAN member countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Laos and Cambodia have invested over 2, 700 projects into Vietnam with total capital of US$ 56. 85 billion accounting for nearly 21 percent of total foreign direct investment capital in the country, reported the Foreign Investment Department.
 
ASEAN investors are present in 57 out of the 63 cities and provinces nationwide. The ASEAN’s investment capital in Vietnam has been mainly focused on the processing industry and real estate in big cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Ba Ria- Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and others.
 
Recently, leaders of ASEAN countries signed the declaration about establishment of ASEAN community that is expected to bring significant benefits, create more favorable conditions for market approach, reduce cost price and unemployment, and create advantages for people and ASEAN member countries.
