(ĐN- According to Dong Nai province’s plan on the land use in 2011-2015 period approved by the Government, land for perennial plants has to reduce over 29,000 ha to reach nearly 175,000 ha for the implementation of new projects, works for socio-economic development.
However, by October this year, the land area for perennial plants in the province was reported at 201,800 ha, decreasing only 2,000 ha compared with the approved plan.
The slight fall is attributed to slow implementation of many projects in the 2011-2015 period along with a lot of local farmers had shifted land for planting annual plants, productive forest land to land for perennial plants for higher income, making the province’s land for perennial plants only reduce by 8%.
