Dong Nai's leaders receive new CEO of Taekwang Vina

(ĐN)- Secretary of Dong Nai provincial Party's Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong on November 25 received newly-appointed General Manager of South Korean-owned Taekwang Vina J.S Company Nam Jung Dae.

According to Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong, Taekwang Vina is one of the earliest footwear manufacturers to invest in Dong Nai and is operating successfully. The company has made its remarkable contributions to the province's socio-economic development as well as created a large amount of jobs for laborers in Dong Nai and other provinces.

Mr. Nam Jung Dae praised the promptly support from the province’s authorities, contributing to the effective production of the company. He hoped that the company will continue to receive support from Dong Nai to expand its production as well as benefit from free trade agreements and Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.

Taekwang Vina, located in Bien Hoa industrial Park 2, is now home to 30,000 laborers in Dong Nai and produces 2.8 million pairs of shoes monthly. The company plans to recruit another 15,000 workers to expand its production, increasing its monthly capacity to 4 million pairs of shoes.

The same day, at a meeting with Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of the provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Nam Jung Dae showed his worry about the difficulties in recruiting more laborers in the coming time for expanding its production as FDI investment flow to Dong Nai has increased sharply.

For his part, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai said that Dong Nai has lured more than US$2.2 billion worth of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the last 11 months. Most of the projects are in the field of supporting industry that need few laborers, adding that the company feel secure in labor employment.
