(ĐN)- Dong Nai provincial Farmers’ Association on October 14 held a get-together to mark the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.
The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Ho Thanh Son and Deputy Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department Pham Thi Kim Chung.

Over the past 85 years, the agricultural sector’s comprehensive development has contributed to the nation’s achievements. In recent years, Dong Nai Farmers Association and its agencies have launched farmers’ movements and activities to directly help farmers in production and business development, poverty reduction and wealth generation.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Ho Thanh Song highly praised efforts made by the association during the last years. He emphasized the need to implement mechanisms and policies to protect farmers’ legitimate rights and benefits through increasing their incomes and providing vocational training and jobs for rural workers, increase the quality of emulation movements.
So far, the association attracted more than 200,000 members. In 2014, over 140,000 farming households in the province registered to participate in the movement of good farmers in production and business launched by the Association.
On this occasion, 97 individuals received campaign medals for their active contributions to the development of the Association.
