Dong Nai attracts many support industry projects

(ĐN)- Since 2014, Dong Nai has granted investment licenses to 168 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects. Most of the FDI are poured into hi-tech and support industry projects, with the biggest invested by Hyosung (US$660 million), Kenda (US$160 million), SMC Manufacturing VN (US$112 million), Kuk II VN (US$56 million) and Dong II VN (US$52 million).

Vietnam in general and Dong Nai in particular is more and more attractive to foreign investors as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement will officially comes into effect in the near future.

According to Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of the provincial People’s Committee, Dong Nai remains attractive destination for FDI because of its convenient location and developed transport infrastructure. The province is giving priorities to attract high-tech, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly projects as well as investment in the support industry. 

Chairman of Kenda Rubber Industrial Co Ltd Ying-Ming Yang said that the Corp would build its second factory in Dong Nai after the first factory at Ho Nai IP. The factory, producing tires and tubes for bicycles, motorcycles, industrial vehicles and light trucks, will be built at a cost of US$160 million. It is expected to have a designed annual output of 7.5 million products, mainly exported to the US.

Recently, Japanese Forval Corporation has partnered with Tin Nghia Corp to build warehouses across 18.3 hectares at the Nhon Trach 3 Industrial Park, creating a basis for the formation of a Japanese SME centre.

Dong Nai continues to be one of the most attractive investment destinations for Japanese small and medium enterprises (SMEs), according to Mr. Hideo Okube, Chairman and CEO of the Forval Corporation.

Since the beginning of the year, more foreign businesses have come to Dong Nai to look for investment opportunities. Accordingly, many of them are operating in the support industry.
