The Indian businesses and about 60 Vietnamese firms joined a trade exchange conference to seek stronger partnership.
The Indian businesses mainly engage their trade and production in the fields of electric equipment, pharmaceutical products, chemicals, pesticide, steel, construction materials, etc. Their visit to Dong Nai aimed to establish agencies to distribute their products and promote links to bring Vietnamese goods to India.
At the conference, Mr. Arun Kumar Saraf stressed that the Indian businesses wished to seek partners in Dong Nai to promote investment links in infrastructure, real estate, pharmaceutical products, fertilizers, steel and oil.
Director of the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoa Hiep said that Dong Nai ranks 4th among leading localities nationwide in exports, contributing 9 percent to the country’s total value. The province’s exports are mainly apparel, footwear, wood and wooden products, electronics and spare parts. Meanwhile, the province imported mainly machinery and equipment, spare parts, steel, animal feed and corn.
Last year, Dong Nai exported over US$187 million worth of goods to India while imported products worth nearly US$295 million from the country. The province mainly shipped to India agricultural and aquatic products, plastic material, fibre, confectionary, rubber, steels and equipment.
