Dong Nai strives to increase the industrial production value to 12-13 percent in 2015 from the previous year.

Spearhead industries are expected to contribute some 44.4 percent to the total value, according to Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade Le Van Danh.

In the coming time, the province will focus on increasing the proportion of hi-tech and supporting industries, which are friendly to the environment, he said.

To realise the target, the provincial industry and trade sector has enacted a number of measures such as introducing local potential and attracting hi-tech and clean production projects.

It will also urge industrial parks and clusters to push ahead with infrastructure investment to call for investments in spearhead industries, while enhancing technology transferring and application of new-cutting edge equipment to increase product quality and competitiveness.

Special attention is also paid to human resources development policy, especially vocational training and sharpening skills and capacity for small-and medium-sized enterprises and industrial production factories.

Local authorities will put forth more incentives to encourage and support businesses to invest in the hi-tech, supporting and processing industries.

According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the local industrial production index in August increased by 1.75 percent over the previous month and 6.62 percent against the same period last year.

In the first eight months of this year, the local industrial production index was estimated to increase by 8.28 percent year-on-year.

Considerable growth was registered in the sectors of garment-textile, footwear, rubber, plastic, wood, coal mining, processing industry, and electricity.
