Dong Nai earned US$7 billion in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 14.5%, according to its Statistics Office.
The foreign-invested, private and State businesses contributed US$5.9 billion, US$1 billion and US$120 million, respectively.
The province’s import turnover reached more than US$6.2 billion in the period.
This helped the province enjoy a trade surplus ofUS$464 million, three times higher than the same period last year.
It is attributable to export market expansion, recently-inked Free Trade Agreements, and reduction in tax.
Among 30 export items, only five witnessed decreases in value.
The shipment of other commodities such as footwear, garment, wood, vehicles, electrical wires, machines, electronics, peppercorn and cashew rocketed.
