With an investment of more than VND324 billion from the state budget, the reservoir is expected to become operational in late 2017.
The reservoir will be able to supply water to around 590 hectares of agriculture land for three communes in the district including Xuan Tam, Xuan Hiep and Lang Minh.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Phan Thi My Thanh stressed the importance of the project to the local agricultural development as well as to the other daily activities of the local people and the contribution of the reservoir to improve the water supply in Xuan Loc district.
She also asked the project management unit and construction contractors to ensure the project's timeline.
