(ĐN)- At present, the black pepper prices in Dong Nai go up to VND220,000-240,000 a kilogram, the highest level recorded in the past ten years, according to the pepper growers in Cam My, Xuan Loc, Trang Bom and Long Khanh town.
The prices guaranteed great profit for pepper growers. The strong price is due to a global supply shortfall. Dong Nai is now ranked third in the country in the area under pepper cultivation.
The average pepper export price stood at more than US$9,300 a ton in the first five months.
