(ĐN)- Dong Nai-based enterprises imported more than US$285 million worth of raw material for footwear production in the first five months of the year, an increase of nearly 34 percent compared to the same period of last year.
Most of raw materials were imported from China, Republic of Korea and Italy. Footwear is one of the leading export products of Dong Nai. In Jan-May period, the province earned more than US$1 billion from exporting footwear. Accordingly, the trade balance in footwear industry recorded a surplus of US$700 million.
