The Thien Tan water plant, with a capacity of 100,000cu.m. per day, requires a total investment of more than US$61 million, of which $41 million have been borrowed from the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea EximBank).
Vu Van Hoc, chairman of the board of directors of the Dong Nai Water Supply, the investor of the project, said the first phase of the Thien Tan water plant project, with a capacity of 350,000cu.m. per day, was completed in 2004.
The second phase of the water plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2017. Water from the plant will be supplied to residential quarters and industrial zones in Bien Hoa City, Vinh Cuu, and Trang Bom districts.
Dinh Quoc Thai, chairman of the Dong Nai People's Committee, said the plant will help develop the province's economy and improve the living standards of local residents.
Thai has asked investors to ensure the project' progress, technological quality, and legal regulations on construction management.
The provincial authorities have pledged to remove any obstacle in the project's construction work, he stressed.
