(ĐN)- A workshop themed “Access to Indonesian markets towards ASEAN integration” was held in Ho Chi Minh city on May 8.
Indonesia is one of important market of Vietnam with two-way trade turnover at nearly US$5.4 billion and it is expected to rise by US$10 billion in 2018. Vietnam shipped mainly phones and spare parts, steel, machines, garments, rice and coffee while importing rubber and wooden products, confectionary and cereals.
At the event, Consul General of Indonesia in HCM city Jean Anes said apart from exporting products to Indonesia, Vietnamese businesses now have opportunities to invest in the wholesale and retail, mining and industrial sectors in the island country.
Dong Nai reported an export turnover to Indonesia at around US$315 million last year. The island country is the province’s second largest export market in ASEAN after Thailand.
