Chinese delegation seeks business opportunities in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- A business delegation from China’s Fujian province led by Vice President of Chinese Business Association in HCM city (CBAH)  Chau Ba Can on May 5 paid a working visit to study investment attraction policies in Dong Nai.

Receiving the delegation, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Planning and Investment Bo Ngoc Thu said that the province has 31 industrial parks with good infrastructure that have been attracting more and more foreign investors, adding Dong Nai is giving priorities in attracting projects related to support industry, hi-tech industry, food processing, hi-tech agriculture.

In addition, the province is calling foreign direct investment (FDI) in education, healthcare, traffic infrastructure and building ports. Dong Nai has so far lured 1,485 FDI projects with combined capital of more than US$27 billion. Of them, the valid projects number 1,130 with total capital of nearly US$23 billion.

The delegation which had 18 big businesses operating in the field of footwear production, earning total revenue at around US$2 billion a year. The Chinese businesses wished to build footwear production plants in Dong Nai. They expressed their interest in Dong Nai’s policies for footwear industry including investment locations and recruitment of laborers.

According to Dong Nai Department of Planning and Investment, Dong Nai does not provide special investment incentives for footwear industry in attracting projects. If a investor invests to build footwear plant in Bien Hoa city with more than 1,000 laborers, it’s a must to build housing for workers.
