Dong Nai's economy continues high growth

(ĐN)- Despite the country's current difficult economic situation, Dong Nai still maintains a high growth. The province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2014 rose by 11.55% from a year earlier.

 

(ĐN)- Despite the country’s current difficult economic situation, Dong Nai still maintains a high growth. The province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2014 rose by 11.55% from a year earlier.

The figure was reported by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Minh Phuc at the 12th session of the province’s People's Council (PC) in its 8th tenure to review the socio-economic situation in 2014 and work out for the plans in 2015.

The Vice Chairman stressed that Dong Nai has been formulating a wide range of measures for its economic development as well as to promptly remove difficulties for local businesses in their trade and production.

Accordingly, the province took special interest in supporting the enterprises, boosting trade promotion campaigns, attracting domestic and foreign investors. Numerous projects had been put into operation, helping to increase the production competence.

According to the report, Dong Nai has so far this year fulfilled and exceeded many socio-economic targets. Accordingly, in 2014, the province is estimated to fulfill 30 out of 31 norms for socio-economic development and 11 of them are estimated to exceed last year's showing.

The province has so far lured lots of domestic and foreign projects. Particularly, there are more than 2,100 new businesses establishing in Dong Nai in 2014 with the total registered capital of VND7.8 trillion.  The province has so far disbursed US$ 1.1 billion in FDI. Most of the FDI projects are of hi-tech and supporting industries.

Director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment Bo Ngoc Thu said that the increasing Dong Nai’s FDI attraction in 2014 is attributed to the province had effectively carried out administrative reforms, especially in the sectors of investment, taxation, and customs.

Over the period, Dong Nai collected more than VND36 trillion for the State budget, up 11 percent from a year before.

According to the Vice Chairman, Dong Nai People’s Committee will deploy measures for socio-economic development in 2015, focusing on improving the quality of administrative reforms, promoting domestic and foreign investment attraction, and paying more attention in supporting the local enterprises. Moreover, Dong Nai will pay special attention in attracting financial resources, especially for infrastructure investment, and using them effectively.
