The delegation was received by Vietnam Ambassador to Canada To Anh Dung and Commercial Counselor Hoang Anh Dung.
This visit is in the framework of the province’s advance trade promotion working visits in the U.S and Canada.
Deputy Secretary Phan Thi My Thanh thanked Ambassador To Anh Dung for his reception and creating favorable conditions for the delegation to explore the investment opportunities with partners in Canadian market.
Canada is presently a potential trade partner of Vietnam and Dong Nai as well. The two-way trade between Vietnam and Canada reached about US$2 billion in 2013.
Dong Nai’s export turnover to Canada reported around VND164 million last year, increased 16.3% year over year. The locality’s mainly exported commodities to Canada included garment, footwear, cashew nuts, machinery and equipment, plastic materials.
The country now ranks 14th among the countries and territories investing in Vietnam. However, there are not any projects from Canadian investors in Dong Nai.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Canada To Anh Dung said that he would make utmost efforts to promote the effective and true relationships between two countries as well as to boost the development cooperation between the localities of the two countries.
