(ĐN)-Dong Nai’s exporters have basically completed their orders in 2014 and are seeking new contracts for 2015. Accordingly, local businesses are more interested in value than volume.

Director Ngo Van Quy of Khang Hanh Thong Company, which specializes in producing and exporting woven products made of bamboo and rattan, said that his company is estimated to earn an export turnover of nearly US$1.4 million in 2014, a year-on-year rise of US$400,000. The South Korea and Japan are top importers, followed by the European Union (EU).

Export contracts for this year at other handicraft company such as Narich has also increased sharply in volume. Narich is now fulfilling their signed contracts and negotiating new orders for next year, said the company’s representative.

The export of textile and garment, footwear and wooden products also saw positive outcomes. Local companies have a positive year ahead with most having export contracts until the 2015 first quarter.

Minh Tien, a wood processing enterprise in Bien Hoa city, has won the first export order for 2015. “But the enterprises can lose out if there is an export price increase, so they should sign long-term contracts with agreed provision on the amount but the export price should set for every quarter," Director of Minh Tien Company said.

Handicraft companies are also no longer worried about a shortage of orders as in previous years. They are expected to receive the orders with high value.
