(ĐN)- The price of coffee beans have soared by VND5 million per tonne since late September, pushing the price to VND4-4.2 million per tonne.
The rise in the price of coffee locally is due to the hike of coffee prices in the world market in the past two week as well as lowering expected yields on coffee plants in the 2014-2015 crop in the largest coffee growing countries.
At present, despite of the high price of coffee in the market, not many farmers in Dong Nai have enough coffee beans to sell. In Dong Nai, coffee farmers will harvest their crop in late November 2014 to February, 2015.
