(ĐN)- Bien Hoa Sugar J.S Company is planning to develop a sugarcane material area in Vinh Cuu district. Accordingly, new cultivation technologies will be applied to increase productivity and quality of sugarcane.
The plan has received attention from the provincial People’s Committee. It is expected to establish closer links between enterprises and farmers, revamp the process from plantation to production to consumption, and aims at helping the sugar industry to overcome the current difficult period.
Connections between businesses and growers will benefit both sides. Sugar processing companies are able to restructure their production to reduce costs, enhance their competitiveness on the market; while the farmers will be provided new technologies and capital to improve productivity and product quality.
According to Mr Bui Van Lang, general director of Bien Hoa-Tri An Sugar Co., his firm has an increasing demand of raw materials for production, with an estimated volume of about 375,000 tonnes per year, while existing sugarcane area in Dong Nai can supply only 190,000 tonnes.
In order to meet growing demand of raw materials for processing, material zone planning is top priority. Under the development plan, by 2020, the sugarcane cultivation area will be 2,118 hectares.
