Over the first six months of 2014, Dong Nai has poured VND15,861 billion into the national target programme on rural development, of which over VND14,592 billion was sourced from the public and other economic sectors, VND761 billion from local budget and only VND15.86 billion from central budget.
Dong Nai has so far reported 21 communes that meet all 19 criteria for productive rural communities. Dong Nai will exert all possible efforts to recognize 25 communes as new-style rural areas by the end of the year.
However, communes in the province are now facing difficulties due to lack of land fund for building schools and policies for agricultural production projects.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Vo Van Chanh of the provincial People’s Committee asked the steering committee to mobilize all sources to participate in the construction of new-style rural areas.
