(ĐN)- The Livestock Competitiveness and Food Safety Project (Lifsap) ’s management board under the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has so far supported to build 30 fresh food areas at markets across the province.
Of the fresh food areas, 25 have been put into operation, the other 5 fresh food areas are under construction and expected to put into use by the end this year.
The World Bank-funded Lifsap was implemented in Dong Nai province from 2010 with the aim to achieve increased production efficiency of household producers, reduce negative environmental impact by supporting livestock producers, markets and slaughterhouses to meet environmental standards, and improved food safety by supporting slaughterhouses and meat markets to operate at national hygienic standards.
