(ĐN)- Dong Nai is now making efforts to expand export markets through trade promotion activities. Particularly, the province prioritizes exploring more foreign markets for local farm produce.
The new markets, including Dubai, the Republic of Korea and Africa, look very promising for the province.
Director Le Van Banh of Department of Industry and Trade said over the past time, the provincial trade promotion programs has helped local enterprises to sign economic agreements as well as memoranda of understanding on agricultural products export with their partners in the Middle East and Korea.
Deputy General Director Nguyen Huu Hieu of Dong Nai Food Industrial Corp (Dofico) stressed that the corp is focusing on extending its reach into the new markets in Dubai and Korea. Accordingly, Dofico has opened its representative office in Dubai and planned to open one more in Korea. It is estimated that from now until the end of this year, many kinds of fruit will be exported to these markets.
Chairman Ho Sau of Trang Bom district-based Viet Nong Lam J.S Company, an animal producer, said that his company’s exports to the Korea reaches 3,000-4,000 tons per month. The company is currently receiving orders from Japan and will continue widen its presence in the potential markets.
