(ĐN)- According to Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province planted 142 ha of high quality rice farming in local districts of Vinh Cuu, Tan Phu, Xuan Loc, Long Thanh, Dinh Quan districts in its Winter-Spring crop.
The localities harvested 7-7.5 tonnes per hectare in their intensive high-quality rice farming areas, up 2 tonnes/ha compared to traditional rice cultivation.
With the current rice price, farmers could get the profit of some VND25 million per hectare.
The province is planning to increase its high quality rice fields in the coming time and encourage local businesses to provide modern production equipment and pesticides to farmers and buy all farmers’ rice.
